I have a half removed tatoo on my upper arm. I have stopped the process since I had got monsterous keliod scarring results. It looks terrible and itches like crazy. I've been to the dermotologist and he said that laser isnt going to work for me. Can anyone reccomend a remedy or CURE!!?? I was thinking about having a skin transplant but that is going to be super expensive.
Please give me any adice, I'd really apreciate it.

Re: Keliod scarring - driving me crazy- Help!!
Fri, June 6, 2008 - 7:54 AMI have a lot of scarring from a bad skin condition - was kinda like chicken pox, except it was caused by an unrelated cancer. (Long story in my blog)
I've been using Healing Cream from www.ageless.co.za/products.htm
and Oh,My Aching... from mountainmamaofmaine.com/, which is not supposed to be for scars, but I noticed it working on a scar on my hand when I was using it for achy muscles.
Slow, but noticeable improvement.
Also, regular pumicing in the shower, using soap as a lubricant. -

Sun, June 15, 2008 - 4:54 PMI contacted a tribe....not sure which one....but they suggested canlendula for a horrible keloiding from stitches. I mean this thing was another appendage on my ankle, causing me to be unable to wear heeled shoes.
I have used it twice a day since January, and am VERY impressed with the results. The scar is slowly fading away. I -

Re: Keliod scarring - driving me crazy- Help!!
Thu, September 18, 2008 - 5:37 AMI have a problem with keliods as well, i know there are some herbal cures that claim they work-maybe they do? i kelioded when i pierced my ears for the second and third time. my dermatologist injected some kind of steroids into them-this made the swelling go down, but the scar is still there you might also be able to try i think theyre silicone patches-something about them reduces the keliod-also pressure works, i dont know where you could get a kit like that-but putting pressure on the keiod, and over days of time adding more pressure is supposed to make the swelling go down.... -

Thu, December 4, 2008 - 11:46 AMI don't know if this is a 'natural remedy', and haven't used it myself, but I've heard good things about Mederma. You may want to check it out. I know others have mentioned it to work for them.

Re: Keliod scarring - driving me crazy- Help!!
Mon, February 23, 2009 - 3:25 PMI *highly* recommend using grapefruit seed extract. I tend to keloid quite a bit (as I learned when I pierced my nose) and had horrific experiences with it. I put tea tree oil and GSE on my keloid twice a day and it worked wonders. You have to be really vigilant about but it's worth it!
I used the tea tree at night because the gse irritated the inside of my nose (where I was applying some of it), but I think the gse was more powerful than the tea tree. Both worked well to break down the tissue and make it soft to help it reabsorb to my body, and both were recommended by very professional piercers (who see keloids all the time!).
Good luck!

Re: Keliod scarring - driving me crazy- Help!!
Tue, February 24, 2009 - 7:54 PMI had a long, red keloid scar on my chest from a minor operation. I massaged Bio-oil (available in the UK) into the scar every day, along with vitamin e cream. I made sure to massage the scar for a minute or so when applying them, as apparently this help. My scar is virtually imperceivable, you wouldn't notice it anymore. They really worked. -

Re: Keliod scarring - driving me crazy- Help!!
Thu, August 13, 2009 - 11:14 AMHi he was right about the laser because all it did was took off the top of my kelkoid that was on top of the skin. The keloid underneth my skin grew back to a big keloid. Before the laser surgery I was using a keloid cream( i forget the name) for a few months and it made a split across my keloid. The cream did had an effect on my big( long like my pinky and an inch wide) and old keloid.I wish that I had got the cream again after the keloid came back during that time( around 2003-2004).
About a year ago I got surgery and injections on that keloid but it came back abit bigger.I have two flat ones on my leg and one of them is abit raised. They look like normal scars( because I had surgery on those scars the same time as the big one.I got radiotheraphy too.) but they itch.I have 2 very tiny mature keloids( One is on my ear. They aren't noticible.Mature keloid means that it stops growing and stops itching.I don't consider them keloids anymore.I wish I knew what causes keloids to mature.)
