Conditioner for fine hair?

Hello All. I have a question for you. I have stick straight and very fine hair. I am looking for some type of conditioner that may help thicken my hair without make it more prone to damage. A friend of mine from Polynesia suggested using coconut oil. She said that it naturally thickens hair as well as keeping it conditioned. Has anyone tried this or know where I could get it? Help!

Curious - is this just coconut oil, or is it a blend of coconut oil & other ingredients? (I'm assuming the latter, since it's in a bottle.)

And, could one use just regular coconut oil from the store as a conditioner?

Thanks! As usual, you all have saved the day!

Does anyone have any other suggestions besides Coconut? I only ask because in my area of the earth some things are hard to come by.

Work your magic people! I'm awaiting knowledge. :)

you can order the c. oil online in that link.

                try olive oil too.
if it weighs down your hair just wash it a couple more times.

let the olive oil sit on your head about 2 hours ( i put my hair ina shower cap) and then wash it out.
becareful that you dont fall on your ass in the shower.
                slippy tub :)

mmm... I used coconut oil this morning in the shower - liquified a small piece of solid oil, left it on my hair about 5min and rinsed&rinsed&rinsed. It really wasn't feeling like it was coming out, but after it dried my hair feels soft & light.

I would recommend a leave-in conditioner instead. Coconut oil will most likely just weigh down your hair and make it look limp. The one I am using now is called Fresh. You could also try:

Got2B 'So smooth liquid fixx miracle repair' leave-in
ion 'Color solutions color defense' leave-in
Joico 'Volissima volumizing for fine hair' rinse out conditioner
KMS 'AMP Volume 2 in 1 thickening creme' leave-in/styling cream
    Loreal 'Vive color-care masque' rinse-out
Neutrogena 'Triple moisture sheer hydration foam' leave-in
    Ouidad "Botanical boost' leave-in
Sebastian 'Shaper color survivor daily' rinse-out.

I wouldn't pay attention to any claims about retaining color in color-treated hair as they are all bogus, and the spf in the Neutrogena is basically ineffective, but besides that they are all good light-weight, shine or volume building conditioners.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    -Mel
