I am feeling lost and desperate to figure this out.
I have an important female related issue that I really need some guidance about. I am 39 and feel really uninformed about my body even after having three children!
I thought I had a yeast infection with out itching or burning, clinic said yeast not elevated enough. I asked why there is so much discharge and why it so thick, very white and creamy more often than not. I have seen a Doctor three times this past year. Each time I was told there is no yeast infection and this is just “normal” for me. Well, I do not like it and I do not want this to be NORMAL! Over the past year, the heavy discharge has created more problems than I could imagine, the worst being that my boyfriend (now ex) felt it was some one else’s "stuff" in my unmentionables. Really, I do not agree with “Just live with it” philosophy the clinic gave me. I am self conscious enough!
I had a hysterectomy at the age of 31, leaving my ovaries in tact and does not require medications. But now I really want to find the “cure” for my so called “normal” female issue. Any Ideas?

Re: Ok ladies .....
Wed, May 6, 2009 - 1:22 PMI have the same issue, only I am 19, no children. I was told it was luekoria. I have just learned to live with it. No need to feel self conscious about it, lots of women have it, believe me I have asked. I tried the pill for a while, and had no luck. As far as I know, there is no cure for it really. Sorry to be a downer, I hope you find what your looking for! -

Thu, May 7, 2009 - 11:41 AMTry adding more yogurt / kefir to your diet - this often has a good balancing effect to body excretions of all kinds.
Good luck!! -

Thu, May 7, 2009 - 3:20 PMI wonder if it could be hydration related? You're dealing with a mucus membrane, after all. A lover once told me that women who drink more water tasted better, and it's a compliment I've been blessed to receive more than twice, <G>. Probiotics may help too, but try getting 2-3 quarts through you a day.

Re: Ok ladies .....
Thu, May 7, 2009 - 11:34 PMProbiotics are the living organisms in yogurt that make the milk into yogurt.
You can find pills for this if you don't like yogurt - they even have them at Trader Joe's. -

Re: Ok ladies .....
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 1:02 PMLeukorrhea is very very common and while you may always need to live with some degree of it, my first
recommendation would be to get rid of any stagnation in your body.
This of course after ruling out and hormone imbalances, dietary allergies/issues and disease.
TCM may work well for you because it can clear up the systemic stagnation - acupuncture
paired with Chinese Herbs working in synergy.
Certainly, taking probiotic supplementation, apple cider vinegar and Caprylic Acid are great too but
I think TCM may be the best course of action in the immediate future.
I suggest reading up on it and/or if you know a good acupuncturist - make an appointment to discuss.

Re: Ok ladies .....
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 5:52 PMI'm right there with you. I'm 28, never been pregnant and have had discharge since before my period got regular.
Actually, probiotics and/or yoghurt everyday can make your discharge thicker and more "fragrant". I don't recommend this unless it's prescribed to treat some other medical/physical condition.
I recommend lots of water everyday, cut out the processed sugars and white flour, balance out sweet foods with bitter or bland ones, cut down on milk based foods, cut out beer and similar yeast brewed beverages, do NOT douche (unless specifically prescribed by a doctor), use pantie liners, and the golden key... sensitive skin perfume free flushable baby wipes. Also a mild diuretic (with extra water intake soon after) like green or black tea may help make your discharge thinner.
You don't have to like it, but this is (probably) natural for your body.
Some medications cause the uterus to make extra discharge. And it never gets reported during clinical trials because so many women feel it's embarrassing. But be careful about cold quitting any med prescribed by your doctor.
And your ex is an ignorant ape.

Re: Ok ladies .....
Sat, May 9, 2009 - 6:10 AMI seem to get this during ovulation or right before I start. And was told the same thing. I use a Hydrogen Peroxide and Water solution to wash with. I use the wash bottle they gave me in the hospital when you are birthing. About 2/3 hp and the rest warm water. I don't do a full blown douche but I do wash the entry interior. HP is reported to be closest to what Our normal ph levels are supposed to be. If you decide to try it you may want to try with more water, less hp and adjust it; too strong and it could irritate you like vinegar would. -

Re: Ok ladies .....
Mon, May 18, 2009 - 9:42 PMYou are dealing with a mucous membrane and dairy products seem to increase the amount of mucous produced. Green tea and lots of water are good suggestions, but don't drink so much water that you dilute your electrolytes too much. If you are drinking lots and lots of water, throw in a sports drink or electrolyte replacer. If you can talk to your OB/GYN, do so.

Re: Ok ladies .....
Thu, May 21, 2009 - 8:21 AMI had the same issue, and a naturopathic doctor told me that it was due to my dairy intake. Cutting down on dairy definitely made a difference! I rarely eat anything beyond yogurt now, and I can tell when my dairy intake has gotten too high because the discharge comes back.
Good luck!
Oh, and I agree that your ex is an ignorant ape. -
